Household scrap
If you think Utah metal recycling for homeowners is limited to aluminum cans, think again. Bring the cans. Also bring the unused metal gathering dust in the house, attic, basement, or shed.
What non-ferrous means
Non-ferrous metals are materials whose value does not come principally from iron. Utah Metal Works buys non-ferrous metals such as:
- Aluminum
- Copper
- Lead
- Nickel and stainless alloys
- Precious metals
- Tin
- Titanium
- Zinc
See current prices per pound, or call if you are not sure what you have.
Household items you can recycle
- Brass fixtures and brass knick-knacks
- Aluminum foil
- Aluminum siding, including gutters and downspouts
- Christmas lights
- Insulated and bare aluminum and copper wire
- Screen doors and aluminum window frames
- Cast aluminum barbecues
- Plumbing pipe, valves, and connections
- Aluminum pots and pans
- Computer motherboards, keyboards, and hard drives (no monitors)
- Oil-free car parts
- Car batteries
If you do not know what metal an item is, call and we will tell you. Pre-sorted, clean material with nothing else attached pays better.
